Gochujang (고추장) is a hot pepper paste that is a very common ingredient used widely across many Korean recipes to add spiciness and sweetness to the dish. Although not found in UK supermarkets (as far as I know!) you are almost certain to find this stocked in most Korean/Chinese supermarkets within the UK.
£1 – £2 for 200g
£3 – £4 for 500g
£4.50 – £5.50 for 1kg
It can be stored in a cool dry cupboard before opening and then in the fridge once opened.
